You love to work with a camera? Shooting film on the set is your passion? Video art, editing and film montage fascinate you and you love to work on small details of image and sound? Then you have come to the right place. As a media designer for image and sound you are an integral part of the action! Whether it be in the newsroom, on the film set in tv shows, events or in the studio. Every day is different and brings new challenges. We will prepare you for the industry and teach you how to produce audio-visual media.
It is still possible to join our training class for media designers in sound and vision, which started on 4 September, until the end of October!

Your Training
Over the course of your training, you will cover all aspects of media design and you will concentrate on the fascinating technology enabling it. For the first 12 months, you will receive your basic training at mdh while exploring your own strengths and weaknesses. During this time, you will learn the trade, develop the required skills and you can try out ideas.
The theoretic part is followed by an 18-months practical phase during which you will do internships in companies and agencies. This time will help you to find out which areas of your field you like best and to decide on your specialization.
At the end of your training, mdh will help you to prepare for your state-approved exam at IHK (Chamber of Commerce) Don´t worry, our students have a 96 % success rate in IHK exams!
During your training you will acquire theoretic know-how and practical skills.
Within each module, theoretic units are combined with practical exercises and real project tasks, thus preparing the ground for your move into the working world.

Your Professional Perspectives
The media industry is booming. Netflix and other providers set new standards. Media designers for image and sound work in the production of films, news programs and documentations, TV shows, live events, sports events or magazines. The advertisement industry is another place where Media Designers are needed. For example, you could be producing image films, music videos, shoot teaching videos or design multi-media productions.

Admission Requirements
- University Entrance Qualification Exam
- Or a similar diploma
- Possibly Middle School Leaving Exam
Personal Requirements
- Interest in TV, Film, Technology and sound engineering
- Being a team player
- Readiness to help others and to get the job done even when things are difficult
- A driver´s licence and good language skills (English) are helpful, but not essential.
Your personality and talents are more important than top grades!

We charge a one-time admission fee of 490,00 EUR for all study programs
Discount for payments made in full
With payments in full (for the semester, the year, complete course), fees can be reduced by up to 5%. Please check with our counselling department for options.
