Your Program

Learn how to manage projects and product development in the creative industry. The course is divided into the following areas: media, management, general studies (basic courses) as well as two topics of focus.

In „general studies” you will have classes on interesting topics like “Media Psychology”, “Corporate Social Responsibility” or “Cultural Studies”. In addition to that you can choose between one of two special topics and become an expert in that field: “Innovation Management” or “Games Management”.

Hands-on, interdisciplinary and future-focused

With us, you won’t just gain theoretical knowledge. You’ll work on real projects and learn how to lead initiatives, build brands, and strategically plan media productions. The program brings together business, media, and technology – with a clear focus on the challenges of the digital world.

Business and creative foundations

You begin by developing solid business, methodological, and creative skills. You’ll acquire in-depth knowledge of business administration, understand the structures of the media and creative industries, and learn how to present professionally and work in an academic context.

Management and marketing in the digital age

Studying Media Management means becoming a true strategist and team leader. We equip you with essential management skills – from building brands to making data-driven decisions. Through hands-on projects with companies, you’ll develop campaigns, test strategies, and gain first-hand insight into what works in the market – and what doesn’t.

Understanding, shaping, and taking responsibility for media

You’ll dive deep into the world of media: media psychology, media ethics, social media strategies, and legal foundations are taught with a strong practical focus. You’ll understand why content resonates, how to reach communities, and how to produce formats that create real impact – not just clicks.

Innovation and strategy – AI as a key future topic

If you choose to specialize in Innovation Management, the focus is on artificial intelligence. You’ll work with AI tools, analyze data, and develop forward-looking strategies. You’ll learn where AI creates real value along the value chain – from production to management.

Practical projects and real media productions

One highlight of the program at mdh is the media projects, where you actively contribute to film productions. You’ll gain insights into cinematography, editing, storytelling, and market analysis. This sharpens your understanding of how media is created – and how to successfully manage it later on. You’ll also benefit from close collaboration with students from all creative disciplines at mdh, building a strong network that extends far beyond your studies.

A practical semester and your bachelor’s thesis complete your profile – with real references you can leverage directly in your career. "Basically, there was also an enthusiasm for me at the beginning and that was for the media. How can you build beautiful content and make it available...that's why I started studying media management and the whole time I was in internships, in student jobs, in media companies, in publishing houses, in agencies, in market research companies, so I really tried out a lot and saw where I like it, where I don't like it, where my passion actually lies."
