On 4 June, a new episode of the TV documentary series ‘Moneymaker’ appeared in the ARD media library – with a very special protagonist: Patrick de Rijk, better known as ‘Clym’, successful game developer, Twitch streamer and graduate of the Mediadesign University of Applied Sciences in Düsseldorf.

The programme follows Patrick's impressive journey from near Mönchengladbach to the top of the German indie gaming scene. The 30-year-old is on the verge of making his international breakthrough with his game ‘Solarpunk’. The sustainable cosy survival game is already one of the most anticipated games from Germany and is on the wish list of over 500,000 users on the Steam platform. In ‘Solarpunk’, players build a new, regenerative world – using solar, wind and water power. A hopeful scenario that perfectly reflects Patrick's creative and entrepreneurial zeitgeist.

His roots? They lie, among other places, at the Mediadesign University of Applied Sciences, where he studied Game Design. In the documentary, Patrick emphasises how much the practical training at mdh shaped him and prepared him for his current success.

An inspiring portrait of talent, vision – and the courage to break new ground. Watch it now!
