In the summer semester of 2025, Mediadesign students from cohort MD1024 created more than 100 Berlin-themed icons as part of the Graphic Signs module, led by Prof. Carsten Giese. 

Working in groups, the class first defined key terms related to Berlin, then randomly distributed them, and finally developed them into unique iconographic designs through a collaborative process.

Berlin – itself an urban icon – is thus reinterpreted in over 100 graphic symbols. All icons are now available as free SVG downloads for non-commercial use.
