Strong ideas, strong awards: mdh students once again successful at ADC Talent Award 2025
30.06.2025
Once again this year, students from Mediadesign University impressed the jury of the prestigious ADC Talent Award with their creative work – and received multiple awards.
The Art Directors Club Germany (ADC) honours outstanding student projects in the fields of design, communication and digital media as part of its Talent Awards. Mediadesign University has been one of the successful entrants for years – and is continuing this success story seamlessly in 2025.
Silver for ‘The Light of our Hearts’
The project ‘The Light of our Hearts’ by Game Design students at Mediadesign University Berlin was awarded a Silver Nail in the Games category – an outstanding success and a real highlight in this year's competition.
‘The Light of Our Hearts’ is an atmospheric puzzle platform game in which a fragile light is navigated through an abandoned, dark world. The light serves as a central game element: it can be used to solve puzzles, open up new paths, defeat enemies, heal and influence the environment.
As the game progresses, the background story of the world gradually unfolds – and it becomes clear what has happened to it and why the light has disappeared. Players take on the responsibility of protecting the last glimmer of hope and using it wisely.
Winners: Vladimir Bek, Sophia Kuzyushina, Leon Teussen, Rudolf Shigabiev, Adalia De Silva, Aryna Pasinkova, Charon Shen, Daniel Haupt, Oleksii Skorobohatko, Herkus Savickas

Comment of the jury (translation): Light vs. darkness – ‘Light of our Hearts’ takes the most fundamental of all conflicts and develops it into a moving, atmospherically dense and emotionally touching game. With great attention to detail and a variety of levels, this semester project impressed the entire jury.
Award for ‘TheaterWalde’
The ‘TheaterWalde’ project also received an award. This visual concept for a new cultural venue in Eberswalde was developed as part of a design competition. The resulting venue is intended to be a transformative space for everyone – a vibrant centre for culture and exchange. At its heart is a professional theatre with regular performances, complemented by events and lectures. Erik Burdach and Max Voigt from the Media Design programme at the Berlin campus received an award in the Digital Media category.

Award for ‘Speechless Happiness’
Another mdh team was recognised for its creative approach to a sensitive topic with the project ‘Speechless Happiness – Multisensory Exposure to Developmental Language Disorders.’ This project also received an award and impressively demonstrates how design can highlight social relevance.
The project by Josephin Oschmann and Felix Stoffel from the Media Design programme in Munich aims to raise awareness of developmental language disorders. In six immersive exhibition rooms, various disorders are brought to life through interactive animations and contemporary design. The aim is to promote understanding and create a visual language that goes beyond mere information.
